We never publish an answer we cannot verify. This page explains where every answer on SolveDaily is confirmed before it reaches you.
The official game page comes first
For each game we cover, the first and most important reference is the game's official daily puzzle page as published by its publisher. That is where the day's puzzle, its puzzle number, and the authoritative result come from. We confirm the puzzle number first, so the hints and answer on our page always match the exact puzzle you played that morning. Getting the number right matters more than people think: a surprising share of wrong answers on the internet comes from sites answering yesterday's puzzle by mistake.
One source of truth, checked carefully
Because these are daily puzzles with a single correct answer, verification means matching our answer against the official publication of that day's puzzle. We check the exact spelling and, where relevant, the letter count and the puzzle number. For games with multiple parts, such as Connections groups or multi-word answers, each part is checked individually. If anything is ambiguous, for example conflicting information or a puzzle that appears to have changed after publication, the page update is held until it can be resolved. A held page is always better than a wrong answer.
What we don't treat as proof
We do not scrape other hints sites, we do not copy explanations from anywhere, and we do not treat social media posts or forum guesses as confirmation. Other sites can be wrong, and a guess that turns out right is still a guess. Speed means nothing if the answer is wrong, so we do not race to publish. Only the official source counts, every day, for every game.
When verification happens
Checking happens every day before the page updates. The routine is the same whether it is a quiet Tuesday or a tricky puzzle that has everyone talking: confirm the puzzle, check the answer, review the hints, and only then publish. If verification takes longer than usual, the page may go live later than normal, with hints available first and the confirmed answer added as soon as checking is complete. We never skip steps to hit a deadline.
Games we verify daily
We apply this process to all seven games we cover: Wordle, NYT Connections, Strands, Spelling Bee, Pips, Quordle, and Octordle. For readers catching up on older puzzles, the same rule applies: an answer is only shown if it was verified for that puzzle's original publication date.
A note on our tools
Our free tools, the Word Finder and the Wordle Helper, are separate utilities that run entirely in your browser. Their word lists are reference dictionaries, not daily answers, and they are never presented as sources of verification. They help you solve; they do not tell you today's solution.
