Quordle and Octordle Strategy Basics
Quordle and Octordle look like Wordle multiplied, but the strategy is different. In Quordle you get 9 guesses for 4 words. In Octordle you get 13 guesses for 8 words. Every guess counts on every board at once, and that single fact shapes everything.
Open with two or three setup words
Your first guesses should cover as much of the alphabet as possible, not solve any single board. Two well-chosen openers can test ten or more unique common letters across all boards at once. Think of them as reconnaissance: you are buying information cheaply before spending guesses on actual solutions.
Attack the closest board first
After your openers, pick the board where you know the most and finish it. Solving one board removes its word from your mental load and often reveals letters useful elsewhere. Do not spread guesses evenly. Concentrate where the information is richest.
Use sleuth words on 50/50 traps
Sooner or later you will face a board that could be two words, like LIGHT or NIGHT, with guesses to spare. Do not gamble. Spend a guess on a word that tests the differing letters across several boards at once. One smart test beats one lucky guess.
Check every board after every guess
It is easy to fixate on one grid and miss that another board just lit up green. After each guess, scan all the boards. Information you ignore is information you paid for and threw away.
